In order for healing to happen, we have to find and remove the things that are harming us and keeping our bodies from functioning optimally. This could include anything from chronic infections and self-defeating attitudes to inflammatory foods. We also need to add in important factors that may be missing — such as specific nutrients, appropriate exercise, and sufficient sleep.
I will help you add what is missing and remove what is harming you. This allows healing to happen.
Excess weight, chronic pain, and autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis are issues I commonly help people with. Because everyone comes with a unique history, genetic blueprint, living environment, and set of habits, what works to resolve a problem for one is often different from what is needed to help the next person with a similar condition. A cookie cutter approach rarely works, so each client I see is treated as an individual.
The power of food is immense. The foods we eat can be at the root of our chronic conditions, and they can also be the foundation of our healing. Because of this, there is one tool that I use more than any other in my practice — the elimination diet. An elimination diet is an eating plan that takes away foods commonly found to be troublemakers, while adding in foods that can help with healing. After a period of time, the "troublemakers" are carefully reintroduced into the diet to find out whether they’re friend or foe to that particular individual. Using this method, we create an personalized, health-promoting diet.
